Do you have a great Home Made eggnog recipe?
I would like to find and compare All Types of ethnic home made recipes for eggnog and will be using either a plain rum, spiced rum or Bourbon for the kicker. Thank you and Happy Holidays
Eggnog (homemade): 30 minutes preparation 20 min 12 servings 12 cups 4 cups milk 5 cloves 1 / 2 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon cinnamon extract egg yolks ground 12 1 1 / 2 cups sugar 2 1 / 2 cup light rum 4 cups light cream 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 / 2 teaspoon Coffee nutmeg Combine milk, cloves, 1 / 2 c. teaspoon vanilla and cinnamon in a saucepan. Heat to lowest setting for 5 minutes. Wear slowly to a boil. In a large bowl, egg yolks and sugar comin. Whisk together until fluffy. Wisk mixture of warm milk slowly into the eggs. Now pour this mixture into the sauce pan again. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes or until thickened. do not allow mixture to boil. Strain to remove cloves and let cool for about an hour. Stir in rum, cream, 2 tablespoons Tea vanilla and nutmeg. Refrigerate overnight before serving.
