what is the recipe and tasty collection more complete there?
I'm in college, and it seems that I cook to eat the same things old. I would like to make healthy choices (and tasty!) Gourmet, but I often find that I do not know where to look, or lack of creativity to put something together with ingredients on the shelf. Is there a good collection that I can find in bookstores, or perhaps you all could have good recipes? thank you in advance! -jeff
Sometimes it's just nice to have a real book to relax in a chair with ... "The Joy of Cooking" might do the trick for you. Much additional information ... it is a great book. My favorite (But not exhaustive) is the "Guide to good food" by Five Roses Flour, he is Canadian, but I'm sure you could do Amazon. Here's one of my recipes favorite (not the other book): APPLE SAUCE MUFFINS carrot 1 1 / 2 cups white flour 1 cup whole wheat flour (can use white flour) 2 c. teaspoon baking powder 2 tsp teaspoon baking soda 1 / 2 c. tsp salt 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon Coffee grated nutmeg 1 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional, to taste adds zest) 3 eggs 2 / 3 cup firmly packed light or dark 2 tablespoons brown sugar teaspoon vanilla extract 1 / 3 cup vegetable oil 2 cups applesauce 3 cups grated carrots 1 cup raisins (optional) Grated zest (no white attached) of 2 oranges (optional) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. muffin tins lightly with a spray cooking spray containing flour [I use stoneware experienced no preparation]. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. In a medium bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla, mix well. Stir in vegetable oil, applesauce, carrots, raisins and orange zest. Add to flour and mix until incorporated. Pour into prepared muffin cups and bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 20 minutes. Cool 10 minutes on rack, then invert and cool completely. Makes 18 large, 24 medium or 36 small muffins.
