Can Hardee's really say that their biscuits are from scratch, when all they do is add water or milk to a mix?
I had a friend who used to work for Hardee's and he said that their biscuits are made from a mix, either adding milk or water, probably the latter. How can they say that they're "made from scratch" when they're not??? From scratch (to me, a baker) means combining FRESH ingredients and immediately baking them. No one ever touted a Betty Crocker Chocolate Cake Mix as being from scratch.
I have a recipe for a biscuit mix. It makes about 12 cups of 'mix' that I can store away in an air tight container. When I'm ready for biscuits I just add buttermilk and sometimes an egg. They are definitely home-made even though I use a 'mix'.
