whats an easy way to work on the report of something on a calculator?
EG: you have 36 pounds and I want to know the ratio of 1:3, but I need a quick and easy on a calculator.
Add the total ratios. In your case it is 1 +3 = 4. Divide the sum by the total = 36 / 4 = 9. Now you can see part of the ratio = 9. Multiply each part of the report in one piece. 1:3 * 9:3 = 1 * 9 = 9:27. Check this by total the ratio 9 27 = 36! This works for complex reports as 1.2:2.4:1.4 with $ 20. 1.2 +2.4 +1.4 = 5 20 / 5 = 4 1.2 * 4:2.4 * 4:1.4 * 4 = 4.8:9.6:5.6. Total = 20!
