Cookbook Hardcover
Trying to find a cookbook from the 70's called either What's Cooking in Illinois or Who's Cooking what in IL?
My mom lost during a move a great cookbook, red and white hardcover cookbook called either What's Cooking in Illinois or Who's Cooking What in Illinois. We would love to find a copy again!
Having collected cookbooks for over 30 years, I can tell you that with a bit of work from YOU, you could find it. I hate to suggest eBay, but at any given time there are 25,000 cookbooks posted.
To save time, you will want to post a request in the WANT IT NOW section of eBay. (See link below.) The secret to getting as much info in the title of the request as possible. (Just like you have in your Yahoo question.)
What's Cooking in Illinois or Who's Cooking What in Illinois Cookbook from 19XX Hard Cover
In the body of the text describe the cookbook as much as possible. If it was a community or church cookbook--tell the name of the town or church and around the time it was published. The fact that it was a hard cover cookbook (NOT a spiral cookbook)
And with any luck, you will get a few responses or suggestions and go from there.
If there are no responses, you might have to start looking at all the new postings. Also with eBay, you could just put in: ILLINOIS COOKBOOK in for a search and check it weekly. Since you remember what the cover looks like, it should be easier to find.
The other thing is to post in Craigslist in the WANTED section. Do it in the Chicago section (regardless of where you live) because more people will see your request.)
Once you find out the specific title of the cookbook, always check GOOGLE SHOPPING and you can find titles in various places on the web....there are tons of private sellers who have dozens of cookbooks that you will never find on eBay.
