how can you control your nerves and stop your nerves controlling you?

I am sick of my nerves stoping me from getting on in life i failed my driving test due to my nerves.i have an interveiw for a job i really want and need but i am not confident as when i get nervous i just cant concentrate on anything please help.

When we are nervous we expect the worst. As far as the driving test goes it may be you are not nervous about the test but about being in the car with someone you do not know. If that is the case you should try (and your instructor, if they believe you should have passed) is getting you used to more than just the one instructor. My mother failed 4 tests until one examiner told her that it was nerves that was failing her and suggested that she got used to driving with a stranger as passenger..
In terms of jobs.........these days they tell you what they are looking for and what skills you need....if you don't have the skills/abilities to meet that profile, as much as you might want the job, if you know you don't fit the requirements then there is no point in appling.
We all get nervous at interview.............but if you have what they are looking for you can demostrate it at interview if you have done the work and know where you can demonstrate the things they have specified they are looking for. Work out before interview examples of where your skills/knowledge can demonstrate.
One thing I have been asked is what motivates me..........and my answer is that I need to work in a job where I feel I am making a difference and then I expand on it by saying that in a job I had I was working to support research sceintists who developed mobile phone technology. So, although I am "just" an administrator, I was a tiny cog in a big wheel my contribution was significant because without me doing what I did that technology might have taken longer to get into the public domain.
