Have you ever entered a Better Homes and Gardens renovation contest?
I was checking it out on line. It appears that you don't have to do the renovating to enter. However, you do have to submit materials and estimates and fill out an extensive entry form for each project. Just wondering if it is worth the effort. I need renovation in my bathroom and kitchen but couldn't afford it unless I won one of the prizes.
I've never entered any contest from Better Homes and Gardens, but as an avid comper[1] myself, I suggested that you entered the contest eventhough you have to fill the extensive entry forms. For a free renovation, a week of your time to plan out and a day to fill in the forms is totally worth it.
I've joined many contest over the year, and the most important lesson I've learned is to read carefully the Terms and Conditions, this is where most contestants got their entry rejected. Read it carefully, dot down the DO and DON'T.
Do a research on the net on how to estimate and plan out your renovation. Google are your best friends. Over the years, I've won a lot with Google help. Eventhough I still didn't win big prizes for example like car or a house, I do won like cash, movie screening tic, handphone and much more with Google help.
Lastly, I hope you entered the contest. If you didn't win it, at least you've known how much you need to spend to renovate your kitchen and your bathroom, plus entering contest is really a lucrative hobby and I enjoyed every second of it.
